After breakfast, you’ll drive from Arusha to Londorossi Gate for registration. Then proceed to Lemosho Gate, where the hike begins through lush rainforest. This area is rich in wildlife like black-and-white colobus monkeys and forest birds. You’ll walk under a canopy of trees before arriving at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp for overnight.

Today’s trail gradually climbs out of the rainforest into the heath and moorland zone. After a scenic hike across rolling hills and volcanic rock formations, you’ll reach Shira 1 Camp on the Shira Plateau.
